3.5-4 starsThis was a pretty good addition to the series. I liked the story and both MCs but I say that the name of the book, Tacking Trisha, has definite meaning in this book because she makes Kelan chase her around until about 2/3rds of the way through the book.
Trisha is a pilot working for a private airline when the story begins. Trisha lost her mother when she was very young and was raised solely by her father. Her father's an expert in tracking and ambush methods and ran a wilderness survival retreat. Trisha learned all those skills early and could outdo grown men easily by the time she was 12. Trisha was in the military and had been accepted for the space program but had to drop out after a horrible accident. She had to work hard to walk again afterwards and lost her husband (who was a slimebag) during the recovery.
Kelan is a dragon shifter from an alien planet. His older brother, Zoran, is the King of their people (he's also the hero from book #1) and Kelan serves his people as a military commander, having command over his own warship. Kelan had no interest in finding a mate but when Zoran was kidnapped and then found his true mate, Kelan's dragon started pushing for his true mate as well. Things just get worse for poor Kelan when he meets Trisha.
So if you've read book # 1 & 2, you know how the women end up getting caught in a drama Abby was having and end up kidnapped by aliens because they'd seen too much. With no choice given to them, the women are taken onboard the spaceship and away from Earth. Trisha doesn't take this well at all and is determined to get home to Earth and her father who must be frantic at the idea of her being missing. Because of her determination to achieve her goal, Trisha ends up being extremely difficult to deal with when she first comes on board and between what Trisha is doing and what Cara (see book #2) is doing to his ship, Kelan is about at his wits end. Because of everything that's going on, Kelan doesn't have much free time and what time he's able to spare to spend with Trisha doesn't go well. There's a mutual attraction but Trisha is determined to fight it and do anything she can to push Kelan, apparently hoping to push him into taking her home.
Things don't go much better when they get to Kelan's home planet. Thankfully, Kelan's mom is able to intervene and come up with a solution that will allow Trisha and Kelan to be together. Unfortunately, even once Trisha is willing to accept Kelan, she still makes him chase her. Even when things seemed to be going well between them, Trisha confused me by taking off again. TBH, I wasn't very thrilled with how she handled the new relationship with Kelan....she put him through a huge amount of frustration. On the good side, he seemed to like that his mate wasn't a pushover but I started getting tired of it after a while. Thankfully, Trisha stopped running from Kelan but even then, there's drama that keeps them apart for a while. Once they're reunited, things are good and Trisha and Kelan start a HEA together.
This was a pretty enjoyable story. Outside of her tendency to run a lot, I liked Trisha pretty well. At least she was a skilled wilderness person and when she ran and hid, she did a good job at it and proved she didn't need anyone to take care of her. Kelan was a good hero and I liked him. He had a lot of frustration to deal with in this book...I felt rather bad for him a good portion of the time and am glad things worked out in the end. Overall, this was an enjoyable story and I would recommend it. :)
* note - I listened to the audio version of this story and the narrator did a very good job.

Tracking Trisha Science Fiction Romance Dragon Lords of Valdier Book 3 eBook SE Smith Reviews
Trisha Grove is a pilot. She's on her last flight, before retiring to help her father's company. On a routine flight with her friends, she is surprised when their passenger, Abby, is kidnapped. Not the type to stand aside while someone else is in danger, Trisha and her friends go after Abby. When they do, they soon discover that they are not alone in the universe.
Kelan Reykill came to Earth to help recover his older brother. Little does he know he's about to find his truemate. He has always prided himself on his self control, but the moment that they take Trisha up onto his warship, he learns that not everything can be controlled.
Can he convince Trisha that they are meant for each other? Can he convince her to open up to him and let him know what has hurt her in the past? First he has to track her down when she escapes him.
I enjoyed this book. When I was reading the first two books in the series, I wasn't really all that interested in Trisha. With this book, I discovered that she is an interesting character. I loved the way that she could hide and track in any environment. She has an uncanny ability to adapt to any situation.
There is an overlap with the story lines of the previous two books. This time, the reader gets to see the events on the warship and the planet of Valdier from Trisha's viewpoint. I love how each of the female characters have their separate backgrounds which explains how their personalities are different. Trisha's background had some painful experiences that she first must deal with before she can open up fully with Kelan.
I was a bit disappointed in Tracking Trisha. We meet her and her True Mate Kelan Reyhill who is the 4th son in the Royal line of Valdier and Commander of the largest warship V'ager. Trisha Groves Is a divorced 28 year old pilot and skilled tracker hunter. Trisha was taught by her father Paul who owes Groves Wilderness Guide a school for training elect military.
The story is fragmented and 50% of the story re tells books 1 and 2 with no variation. It's a complete copy of what happen in the former stories. There is very little story about Trisha and Kelan. The series has begun to look like a cookie cutter series to me. The really good parts were at the very last page and the epilog of the story. Which were only a few pages. I wish the author had invested her time in writing the story of when Trisha returns to earth Wyoming to get her father. The few different scenes involving Trisha and Kelan that were different from bks 1 and 2 were written in haste and very short.
I Cannot Recommend Tracking Trisha and I am not sure I will read bk 4 Ambushing Ariel. I don't care for repetitiveness!!
